Coming off a somewhat surprising season in which the Buccaneers won the NFC South and made the playoffs for the first time in some time, the Buccaneers are now tasked with opening the season vs the defending champion Seahawks!
Buccaneers management, to the surprise of many, went heavy on defense during the offseason. The team drafted a CB, 2 OLBs, and 1 MLB to add to this unit that finished 2nd overall in total defense. They also traded away FS Goldson and brought in FS Ward via trade to replace him. What they didnt do was add much to an offensive unit that was very much average. Rookie RG Dixon will be the only significant change to an offense that struggled at times last year. Will the addition of so many players on defense disrupt the chemistry this unit had last season? With not many changes to the offense, can they be a better and more dangerous offense that other teams need to fear? Questions that will be answered as the season gets played!
The Buccaneers are focusing on trying to "upset" the champions on the road and know that it will not be easy as the Seahawks are returning most of their starters from last seasons team.
