Chat, PLEASE READ

reason number 1. I dont want to have to type a . every 5 minutes to stay connected to chat.

the only positive about groupme is the app

only thing i hate about groupme is it is away from forum/site.

i'm probly wrong, but i think i seen there's a timeout setting for the chat that could probly get changed so that it's every 6 mins instead of every 5 mins

GroupMe is better in every way..but not having chat embedded on TV section hurts.

Later today I'm gonna enable forumotion chat and we'll mess around with it.

It will also be nice to know who we're all talking to, as our usernames won't be editable.

Twitch has an app too. People hardly talk on twitch feeds because its annoying to play with "show chat" on the ps4 screen and not everyone watches the games. Chat on screen is distracting for some people. Doing the change just to have chat on that page doesnt really change a whole lot that's worth it imo. Might as well keep it as is because of app convenience.

forcing everyone back to forumotion (which sucks) for the 5 or so people who watch a stream seems kind of silly, doesnt it? When I get an alert that so and so is streaming i go to twitch.tv , not elitemaddenleague.com

think that's the point bu11, it's to get people on the site instead of twitch or groupme

groupme is by far way better than forumotion chat for sure, but i see where chreb is trying to go with this change and i personally wouldnt mind it.

i'd miss pm's and just the better user friendliness of groupme but i like the idea of people watching a stream and chatting in chat bout it and people being on forum instead of groupme/twitch page is much better for the league

I see the argument for changing but bull's right. If I know about a stream I'm going right to twitch, not caring about forumotion to watch it and talk. Its too laggy. Plus if anything notable happens people say it in groupme half the time anyway...and we had this before-> nobody cared or used it enough. I think groupme is just way better for convenience purposes.

Does twitch allow the GROUP chat now?  When I looked into it over the summer, it was still only individual feed chats. And group chat was still only for the select few who were partners.

One disadvantagr with GroupMe...u never know who's on chat at the moment or not.

Also PMs can easily be handled with the forums.

The focus needs to be more on the forum.  This is why I didn't want to go to GroupMe in the first place, but having to combine default and fantasy during m25 we did.  Now that's not necessary.

I think it's still feed. TBH the only time people talk on the feed for games is when it's friends ripping each other. like in fantasy me or ortiz23 will go on frank's feed and talk shit on him during his games lol.

For fantasy purposes since this change your suggesting would affect both, a lot of the newer owners have been surprisingly good about groupme compared to in the past. i've seen operate start to use it [he never did last season], his friend socal who took the lions is in a good amount, the new ravens guy does it, frank, lonestar, ortiz23, tblock, wherejago...a bunch of new ps4 fantasy guys or old owners who didnt touch chat use it now. I really do think change could be counterproductive for that league even if it's implemented for regular. I'm just really skeptical because no one used the groupchat on video section before partially because the video section of the sites lags a lot if you don't go directly to the feeds.

Without groupme I feel the chat will be dead.  Not enough people ever used forumotion chat and it's not exactly mobile friendly imo.  I can honestly say that when i am on groupme, it's from my phone.  I will never be in forumotion chat.  The ease of groupme is why our chat became popular in the first place...take that away and chat will slowly die.

Agreed group needs to stay. It's active most times. And when it gets going its good. So we fool around and have fun it's all good

Alright, yeah it's true...forumotion's chat sucks balls.

If you want more activity on the website, just make it mandatory to sign in and check the site like every 3 days.  penalize people that don't check it.

You don't need a Facebook. That's just an option.

Didn't we leave forumotion chat and find better ones last year, before groupme?

I would have to vote for GroupMe simply for the versatility of it working on all my devices. I mostly use an iPad and iPhone to connect to Internet and get on websites. The previous chat hardly ever worked w my IOS devices (probably BC of the flash limitations). Going to get my laptop just to log into the site and get on chat isn't convenient to me. With GroupMe I can check and keep up with the league and be more active...I still log onto the website from my main devices just fine...its just the chat that won't work.

forumotion chat is compatible with all devices...it's those other 3rd party chats that are embedded to forum that require flash player that arent user friendly
