Alright let's hear the ideas. Who's got the best plan in place for what MEFL Default's trade system is going to be?
Last year both leagues ran at a 4 player max on both sides (sent and received.) Fantasy is still rolling with it...obviously there's some chatter about wanting to increase the number in default.
Let's hear these ideas....yours could be the one we roll with.

Here is my Idea 1 player trades( ratings 90 or above) 2 players 89-70, 1 player trade 69 or below
Also you can not trade your top two players
I don't think there should be a restriction on "who" you trade. But I think 2 in, 2 out during the regular season then two in two out during the off-season would be something to consider. Reg season obviously week 1-8... Off-season being just that, in the off-season. Still a total of 4 in 4 out like fantasy. But still slightly restricted in the way you choose to trade and when.. Strictly 2 in and 2 out in the reg season, if you choose to use them fine, if you don't that doesn't mean that you get 4 in 4 out in the off-season. Strictly 2 in 2 out in the off-season, it's your choice to use them or not!
Keep it easy- Limit of 4 total players can be traded. get rid of the "in and out thing" Just make it simple for the simple minded since its very hard for some to understand. 4 players that they can trade out, no limit on how many they bring in.
Maybe a added clause in there which is kind of old school but keeps "stars" on teams could be this. Every year each team must label a offensive and a defensive player with a "franchise" label. These players can not be traded for that year. The req are the player must be 85 ovr or higher, under the age of 30(you can make it younger) and no it cant be a punter or kicker.
Ive seen that add on used a ton though out my time in madden lgs. Ive seen 2 off, 2 def, 1 and 1, 3 total. all kinds of combos but all the same basic formula. Downfall is it reqs players to actually post on the site which for some is not easy with todays tech . Plus side is it will keep some stars on the team.

I like dbe's idea (the simple part, lol) but instead of 4 keep it at 2.
So each year only 2 guys will leave my team, but by trading my picks I could bring in 5 or 6 if I wanted. This would improve my team and only restriction is how creative I am.

I don't want to trade my best players, the fact that some guys do is an owner problem, not a rule problem. Trying to make rules so guys run their team they way I want them to run it is Dumb. (With a capital D)
the best way to go about this is to use the salary cap as the restriction. we arent allowed to exceed a salary cap penalty of 5 million in a single season via trades. so whether we trade 1 or 5 players in a single season, the limit is based on hurting our salary cap potential...idk, this might be a dumb idea lol but limiting the amount of players especially down to such a low number just makes trading impossible because everyone wants a blockbuster trade.
also, get rid of the rule that restricts trading a player you acquired via trade!! do like mxl does, ALL players whether rookie, free agent signee, or traded is required to play 2 seasons on your team before being eligible to trade....if you dont like the player then just cut him

and yes, there will always be trades being completed regardless of rule...just everyone only wants to go for the blockbuster. give us more flexibility to acquire the younger, cheaper, development players
well damn, couldn't do any of my trades this season with your idea..guess i don't know what I'm doing
cap restrictions is stupid.... everyone can manage there own cap
4 players traded max
draft picks don't count as a aplayer
4 can leave
bring in as many as you need with picks and youre 4 player limit
maybe do like before have everybody add2-3 franchise guys that cant be traded

Agree salary cap restriction is dumb - keep it simple and make it X total number of players period - in our whatever.
I personally like the cap penalty restrictions, we are getting into dog days of madden and people will be leaving, happens all the time. Not sure on the number somewhere in between 5-10 million. Allow anyone to be traded, rookies, fa signings... Anybody but don't exceed the pre determined cap penalty restriction.
Why add more restrictions? Reading through chat and reading what's here..... A few of you are contradicting yourselves. Ppl always complaining that there's to many rules.. Now restrict more? Kinda seems like wiping before you poop!

so why should the owners like us who will be here for the duration have to pay with a limit ?? because a few owners will leave?I can manage my cap fine if I am willing to take a hit its for a reason ...... and if somebody does get stupid the clear penalty will work for the new ower
I agree the "in and out" needs to be gone. Either a 4 or 6 in total.
Salary Cap is prolly too tough, and not well thought out. Think about this...say you want to trade an aging star player who has a big contract where although the CAP HIT will be high, you actually MAKE OUT in the deal because his annual salary is higher.
Example: You trade Aaron Rodgers when he's a little older. He has 3 years left with $15 million per year as salary, but his cap hit on bonus will be $10 million in total ($3 mil for current year and $7 mil for next year). Cutting him SAVES SO MUCH money although your cap hit is high.
Why should that guy not be allowed to cut him?
IMO Salary Cap is the responsibility of the owner to take care of themselves.

2 out. As many in, as you can get deals done. It's a good compromise.
